Duet Technologies to set up EDA software development centre in India for LSI Logic of US
The $1.2 billion US Corporation, LSI Logic, has signed an agreement with Duet Technologies, a worldwide provider of technology services, under which Duet Technologies will provide engineering development services for LSI Logic. For this purpose, Duet Technologies will set up a dedicated development centre at its facility at Noida, near New Delhi. The development centre is being set up with an initial investment of $1.5 millions and is expected to generate revenues of $10 million over the next three years.
Datamatics enters into joint venture with Peritus Software Services of US
Datamatics Ltd., the Rs. 100 crores software group in Mumbai, has entered into a strategic alliance with Peritus Software Services, a US-based Y2K solutions provider. Under the agreement, Datamatics will use 'Peritus Automate: 2000' service technologies to enhance turnkey Year 2000 renovations, migrations and conversion services.
Intecos-Set of India allies with Software Productivity Centre of Canada
New Delhi-based Intecos-Set has tied up with Software Productivity Centre (SPC), Canada, a technical resource centre for software development companies. SPC collaborates with organizations to improve software developers' productivity, quality and efficiency and caters to membership program, training and consulting services, products, resources and so on. SPC provides products, namely Essential Set, Metricate, ISO Plus, and SoftGuide. These products facilitate software process improvement, help set up a software metrics program, and provide organizational documentation for ISO and beyond.
Japan's Seiko Epson in alliance with Wipro for software development
The $6 billion Seiko Epson Corporation of Japan has entered into a collaboration with Wipro Systems, Bangalore, for software development in India. The software development division of Wipro Infotech group will exclusively design customized software for Seiko Epson for its global operations including the manufacture of its ink jet printers.
NIIT of India to provide Informix know-how to enterprises
NIIT Ltd., a diversified information technology services company, has tied up with Informix International Inc., of US, a leading object-relational database technology provider, to develop and expand the domestic software and services market by providing latest technologies to Indian enterprises.
The collaboration would enable NIIT to offer the entire range of software products from Informix, including specialized data warehousing and Internet-based solutions. The collaboration will also help software services companies handle international assignments in areas beyond software development and maintenance.
